KUSHK ZINC-LEAD DEPOSIT A TYPICAL BLACK-SHALE-HOSTED DEPOSIT IN YAZD STATE, IRAN

Abstract:
Kushk zinc- lead deposit is located about 167 km east of the city of Yazd, Iran. The geographical location of the mine is 31°, 40' N and 55", 40' E. Different rock types including volcanics and subvolcanics (rhyolites, rhyodacites, dacites, and rhyolitic tuffs) and sedimentary rocks (shale, limestones and dolomites) crop out in the area. Mineralization of the deposit occurs in black shale of the late Precambrian time. The paragenetic sequence of the minerals indicates two stages of mineralization for lead minerals (galena) and one stage for zinc minerals (sphalerite). The Kushk deposit bears several similarities to the base metal deposits related to submarine volcanisms and sedimentation. The deposit is hosted by black shale and is proposed to be similar to the Rarnrnelsberg (Germany) and Sullivan (British Colombia, Canada) deposits. The Kushk deposit is believed to be associated with the evolution of Protrozoic continental rifting in Iran and the mineralization in this deposit passes gradually outward into an iron rich sulfide zone which is the case in Sullivan-type deposits

Geochemistry and mineralization of the East Ridge ore zone in Mehdiabad zinc-lead- barite deposit, Yazd Province, Central Iran
Mehdiabad zinc-lead-barite deposit is located in the Central Iran structural zone and about 116 km southeast of Yazd. The host rock of this deposit is Lower Cretaceous dolomitic limestone of the Taft Formation . The main ore minerals in the Mehdiabad East Ridge ore zone include hemimorphite, hydrozincite, cerussite, and chalcophanite. Ore textures are mainly replacement, brecciated, and open-sp...
full textMineralogy and Geochemistry Studies of the Sorkheh Sediment-hosted Stratiform Copper (SSC) Deposit, NW Iran
The Sorkheh deposit in northwestern Iran exhibits several readily visible general characteristics of sediment-hosted stratiform copper (SSC) mineralization. It consists of fine-grained disseminated base-metal sulfides within gray sandstones (gray beds, the basal whitish Miocene sandstone and shallow-water) that overlie a thick sequence of red beds (Miocene Upper Red Formation). The host gray be...
full textMineralogy and geochemistry of Nodoushan Zn-Pb deposit: A transitional deposit in UDMA, Central Iran
Eocene magmatism with intermediate-acid tuffs and volcanic rocks, the host to the Nodoushan deposit in Yazd province, intruded by Oligocene early diorite and later granite plutonic rocks. The former involved in iron skarn (containing epidote and euhedral grossularite) to the north and northern part of the deposit, the latter contributed to fault-controlled Zn-Pb deposit. The structural features...
full textDeposit Insurance: A Reconsideration
This paper undertakes a simple general equilibrium analysis of the consequences of deposit insurance programs, the way in which they are priced, and the way in which they fund revenue shortfalls. We show that the central issue in analyzing deposit insurance is how the government will make up any FDIC losses. Deposit insurance premia matter only in so far as they affect the level of implied FDIC...
full textDeposit Collectors?
Informal lending and savings institutions exist around the world, and often include regular door-to-door deposit collection of cash. Some banks have adopted similar services in order to expand access to banking services in areas that lack physical branches. Using a randomized control trial, we investigate determinants of participation in a deposit collection service and evaluate the impact of o...
